Joseph Powe is a healthcare operations leader with more than a decade of experience advancing access, equity, and operational excellence across hospital systems, ambulatory clinics, and community-based care programs. He currently serves as Program Director for the Greer Transitions Clinic at Roper St. Francis Healthcare, where he leads a multidisciplinary team focused on reducing emergency department overuse by connecting high-risk and underserved patients to primary care, behavioral health, and essential social services.
Joseph brings deep expertise in clinic operations, financial stewardship, grant funding, and community partnerships. He has successfully managed budgets and philanthropic funds, secured over $450,000 in grant funding to expand services for vulnerable populations, and worked closely with community organizations to close gaps in care for uninsured and underinsured patients. His work consistently bridges clinical care with operational strategy to improve patient access, sustainability, and outcomes.
He holds a Doctor of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina, where his doctoral research focused on care utilization within a Ryan White HIV clinic further reflecting his commitment to serving marginalized populations.
